Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Our program will give you a solid foundation of knowledge and field experience necessary to excel in all aspects of mental health counseling, from group and family counseling to social behavior and chemical dependency. School Counseling

Holistically support the needs of students

Learn to promote academic, career, personal, and social development for K-12 students. You’ll learn how to design and implement school counseling programs including counseling for individuals, families, and groups. The program also provides hands-on learning experience with internships in elementary, middle, and high school settings.

Special Education

Teach to every student’s abilities. 

Our on-campus courses prepare you to manage classrooms and understand the unique challenges of special-needs students and how they learn best. We offer master’s programs for students with or without an undergraduate degree in education. (Students with an undergraduate degree in a field other than education can earn their initial certification while earning their master’s degree.) Master's programs include: Adolescence, Childhood, Advanced, and Initial.

TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) (Online)

Enter a high–needs field in education

Learn strategies and techniques for English language learners in a K–12 setting. Gain experience through a practicum that can be completed anywhere. Prepare to enter a field of rapid growth, especially in urban areas. (In the Buffalo area alone, there are almost 4,000 English language learners.)

Childhood/TESOL (On Campus)

Are you interested in helping children who are non-native English speakers learn the language? A Master of Science in Education in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL, Grades K-12) will help you break into a teaching field that serves a high-needs student population.

Western New York Teacher Residency

Become a teacher and make a difference in Western New York

Apprentice in a local school setting while earning a master’s degree and initial teaching certification in New York State. Complete graduate courses while working with a mentor teacher in one of our partner urban schools. Graduate with a master’s in Childhood/Special Education (grades 1–6) and make a difference in the schools in your community with our teacher residency program.

  • Open to students who hold an undergraduate degree in any major

  • Complete your program in two years

  • Earn a stipend of up to $20,000 and receive a teacher residency scholarship toward tuition

  • Join 1 of more than 30 teacher residency programs in the U.S.

Applied Nutrition (Online)

Fuel your career in nutrition management

Learn how to evaluate nutritional programs, translate theory to practice, as well as conduct and interpret nutrition research. Pair academic research with a specialty that aligns with your goals to strengthen your career. Study online in eight-week terms and complete your degree in as little as one year.
